Louisiana Sightfishing

Ty Hibbs grew up in the marshes of Southeast Louisiana fishing right on the side of the Mississippi River in an area called Point A La Hache. He popped corks for speckled trout and redfish until he learned how to fish bait casters with his uncle, which led to days of topwater trout and redfish action. He later learned to love fly fishing drawn by the challenge and true stalking nature of sightfishing. As a guide he shares his passion of sightfishing with his clients. Whether with a fly rod or with conventional tackle, Ty’s legendary ability to put his clients on fish makes him quite popular in South Louisiana. When he’s not guiding tours, you’ll find Ty jigging for speckled trout, searching for the elusive tarpon in Lake Pontchartrain or duck hunting.

“I’ll admit, at first I was a tad skeptical of KYSEK seeing that there are so many different ice chests on the market these days. But, I soon learned how KYSEK separates itself from the rest. I love how it has wheels, which I have found to be a tremendous help when moving it around. I also love how convenient my KYSEK is to use as a seat for clients in my small boat. It’s very air-tight, so I also use it for dry storage when I’m not out on the water.”
